Hi there
Gosh, I can't believe that I haven't written to you since last September! For nine years I didn't miss a single month of the Fellow Travelers' Advisory (well - almost nine - this is Volume 9, Number 12). Next month, when I begin my tenth year as your more faithful correspondent, I promise to do a better job. There are lots of exciting events coming up, and you can find out about them here. I'm writing to you from beautiful Costa Rica, where my sister Kathleen has lived for over a year now. She is taking a master's degree in International Law and Human Rights at the University for Peace in Ciudad Colon.
Fellow Travelers' Advisory Volume One #1 was published on April 4, 2005. They are all archived here: http://fellow-travelers-advisory.blogspot.com/ blogspot - There are even some wonderful "Muse and Whirled Retorts" archived there from my wild, wooly, whimsical performing partner, poet Chris Chandler.
a wonderful year.
First, overall my health was great throughout 2014, and it still is. I spend a lot more time than I would like with doctors and getting MRIs and CTs, Except for occasional bouts of dizziness and fatigue it's all good.
Second, the tour to Ireland for the Spirit of Mother Jones Festival was terrific. I'm planning another one for the summer of 2016. I'll have the dates soon. We had a fabulous group of people, as we always do, and I had so much fun introducing my activist friends to each other, and to the rich progressive culture of Ireland.
Here's our merry group:
Maya Conn, Anne Feeney, Paddy Downes, Mark Schneider, Jane Doyle, Julien Minard, Melodi Shapiro Brown, Jeff Crosby, Joan Friedenberg, Laura Freeman, Dori Roche Binsted, Nina Fendel,Marjie Crosby, Dan Fendel, Dorrie Rosenblatt, Sue Moore, Bonnie Coleman, Laura Daniels Vickie Hedian, Leah Hoechstetter,Ray Owens and Martha Livingston in Dublin
.
Jackie Fralley, Charlie Bernhardt, Ray Korona, Anne Feeney, Pat Wynne, Chris Chandler, Bev Grant, Charlie King, Julius Margolin, Virginia Ortega Gray, George Mann, Pat Humphries, Francisco Herrera and Jon Fromer at the 2007 (?) Great Labor Arts Exchange, which returns to the site of the former George Meany Center - now the ROSA PARKS and TOMMY DOUGLAS CENTER for LABOR RENEWAL!!!
Feminist rock legend Bev Grant and I hatched a CA mini-tour in conjunction with her powerful show, "We Were There" - which our dear comrade Chris Bricker produced in San Luis Obispo, and we reprised it in Santa Cruz thanks to Amy Newell and Louis LaFortune.

Pittsburgh musicians celebrated Pete Seeger's life, legacy and music on May 3rd
Over 1000 people tried to get a seat at the 800 seat capacity First Unitarian Church.
Our community really came together around music and the amazing person that Pete was.

Brad Yoder and I teamed up to travel to the Kerrville Folk Festival together, and we did a few shows on the way there and back.. Thanks to all our Cincinnati friends, Danny Yeager in College Station, Leslie Harris in Dallas, Tim O'Connor in Oklahoma City and my new friends at the Blue Door, and the great Judy Ancel in Kansas City
Our friend in Dallas, Leslie Harris, taught us how to make a "Light Brigade."
a skill I quickly put to work in Pittsburgh with the help of the Amalgamated Transit Union:
